![]() With the controller still in X-Input mode, you need to bring up the menu (usually Start + Select by default) and go to Main Menu -> Quick Menu -> Options -> Pad 1 Type, and set it to 'dualshock'. As far as I know, they only work through RetroArch and you do need to change some settings. I've tested out some PS1 games and the analog sticks work on those too, including Ape Escape. This has been enough to get it working with N64 and Dreamcast games. To do this you press Select + Up on the d-pad for 3 seconds. I found out I needed to change it to X-Input mode (which gets recognised as an Xbox 360 controller) and it works now. ![]() Out the box, the D-pad and both analog sticks all seemed to be mapped to the same buttons and reconfiguring it in RetroArch didn't work. I don't know if it's possible to use wired (I've heard people being able to use DualShock 4's this way) but I've definitely needed the bluetooth adapter. I did try using the controller with the USB charging cable it ships with, but it didn't work. I bought the 8BitDo Wireless adapter for PS Classic with it too. 0.9 to Project Eris, but as far as I'm aware RetroArch is the same for both, so it shouldn't be an issue. I just bought a 8BitDo SN30Pro Plus and it's working great. So what are my options? Hopefully you can help me out. I don't mind a USB converter to PS1/2 controller setup, if that works with the Classic. However if controller works just as well and is much more affordable then that's an option too. I'd prefer a Sony controller as that feels more right when using it with a PS Classic. I have no controllers that will work (only a Steam controller). That's probably where I'd load Ape Escape, etc. ![]() I use USBs to load games using Retroboot (so with Retroarch). If analogs can be made to work with that emulator too that's fine, but not required. I have upgraded the internal emulator to the Bleemsync one and replaced the internal games with those that are multiplayer centered (for singleplayer games I used a USB in the P2 slot). Since I don't want to waste money on a controller that won't work, I'd like to ask you the community what would work for my situation. This could partially because some use adapters, different emulators. I have seen a lot of videos that test various controllers, but I can't find a conclusive verdict. I'm looking to play games on my PS that require an analog controller, such as Ape Escape.
